Alesis Multimix 8 Usb For Mac

MultiMix 8 The iMultiMix 8 USB is a sturdy, compact all-in-one tabletop mixer and recorder that features 100 studio grade 28-bit digital effects, a built-in limiter to avoid distorted recordings and an integrated iPod dock for easy direct-to iPod recording. The MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 FX is a compact mixer with built-in effects and a high-resolution, multi-channel recording interface so you can mix, record, and do both at the same time. Whether you are mixing a band or sub-mixing a group of inputs such as a drumset, the MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 FX is easy to use, rugged, and packed with features.

  1. The MultiMix 8 USB FX contains a complete USB recording interface. Musicians and engineers can plug the MultiMix 8 USB FX’s class-compliant USB connection into their Mac or PC without installing any software drivers and enjoy a digital-direct stereo connection with virtually any audio software application.
  2. The case quality is really solid. It runs quite hot after a while, even though the power unit is separate - reminds me not to leave it on forever. USB connectivity with Mac is fine. Some software (Finale eg) takes some persuading to recognise the Alesis, to the point of restarting the software with the mixer connected - not totally plug-and-play.
So i bought this Alesis Multimix 8 USB mixer and i plugged it into my macbook. I'm using logic express and i'm totally lost and confused. As you can see by my alias thing it has been frustrating me for a couple days now. I've tried going into settings->preferences->Audio... and under core audio i changed the device to the USB Audio Codec. I assumed that meant the usb mixer, although i still do not get any signal. Do i need to change the input to Bus or whatever that is? Please someone out there help me.

Alesis Multimix 4 Software

I have a new Alesis Multimix 8USB mixer. While recording audio into GB(4.1.2) I hear a constant high-pitched whine on the 'headphone' jack of the mixer. This whine isn't present in the recording when I listen to it using the headphone out jack on MB. It only occurs when the MB is connected to mixer using USB cable. In trying to isolate the problem, the whine starts immediately when GB preferenece are set for Audio Input to: 'USB Audio CODEC'. The system preferences are also set for USB. Any thoughts?
